AuraLife develops and commercializes proprietary data-capture tools and machine learning algorithms for the analysis of individual and group health data sets. Their first product is an app that transforms the smartphone into a blood pressure monitor without the need for a cuff or any additional hardware accessory.

Flux Thermal Solutions has developed a proprietary fluid that resists corrosion and improves energy carry capacity in water-based copper and aluminum heat pipes used in cooling of advanced devices.

Fusion Brakes has developed a unique manufacturing process and tooling that significantly improves performance of carbon ceramic brake rotors and vastly cuts down operating costs.

Movn is a mobile platform for nurse-administered, home-based cardiac rehabilitation. Movn enables cardiac rehab centers to capture more patients through a convenient and affordable home-based program. The Keck School of Medicine USC is lauching Movn mobile platform in summer 2015.

Trace-Ability has developed a solution that automates the quality control process for production of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging, significantly increasing cost-effectiveness, FDA compliance and capacity of nuclear pharmacies.

About Innovation Fund So Cal

Long Beach City College’s Innovation Fund So Cal is stimulating regional entrepreneurial activity, wealth creation, and social prosperity by funding and mentoring entrepreneurs launching innovation-led startups with high-growth potential in the areas of Clean Technology, Bio Medical Devices, and Advanced Manufacturing committed to locating in the LA Basin. The application process for Round 2 began on October 20, 2014, with submission by December 17, 2014. Following interviews in January and pitch presentations in February, finalists are invited to present to the Selection Committee and attendees at innovate!socal 2015, where winning entrepreneurs will be awarded $50,000 no-interest, non-collateralized loans for their startups.
